Lebron Jhames Daep stars in Perpetual's rout of LPU in Season 99 opener | NCAA Philippines

Lebron Jhames Daep poured in an all-around game to steer University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to a statement 89-75 win against Lyceum of the Philippines University in the NCAA Season 99 juniors basketball tournament on Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

Lebron Jhames, whose father, Rommel, was part of San Sebastian's five-peat team from 1993 to 1997, churned out a game-high 22 points on top of five rebounds, four assists, four steals, and one block in 28 minutes of action as the Junior Altas opened their campaign on a high note. 

The 17-year-old high-flyer got enough help from team captain Amiel Acido, who tallied 15 markers alongside four boards, three dimes, and one swat for a 1-0 start while the Junior Pirates dropped to 0-1. 

Ranniel Sayaman paced LPU with 18 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while Dave Melchor chipped in 11 markers and four boards. 

In the first game, Mapua University squeaked past Arellano University, 82-78, behind the duo of Lawrence Mangubat and Aki Valina. 

Mangubat put together 20 points built on four triples together with eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal while Valina chimed in with 13 markers, seven boards, and one dime. 

The Red Robins improved to 1-0 for an early lead in the standings while the Braves dropped to 0-1.
