Rising star Jun Roque parts ways with Perpetual

Rising basketball star Jun Roque has decided to part ways with the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.

The 6-foot-4 guard bared the development to GMA News Online on Saturday as he moves on from the ALTAs after just two seasons in the NCAA seniors basketball tournament.

Roque was a product of Colegio de San Juan de Letran high school team but was not able to compete in the juniors ranks due to pandemic.

He then brought his act to Perpetual, where he would flourish under the guidance of former head coach Myk Saguiguit and seniors Jielo Razon, Kim Aurin, and Jeff Egan.

In his rookie year, the 22-year-old high-flyer saw limited minutes as Perpetual struggled in Season 98 with a dismal 7-11 win-loss record.

Roque, however, shone the brightest the following year, averaging 12.94 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.06 assists, 1.44 steals, and 0.72 blocks to emerge as one of the cornerstones of the Las Piñas crew which eventually get him an inclusion in Season 99 Mythical Five.

He was also named the Most Improved Player in the same year for steering the squad to a fifth place finish with a 10-8 slate.
