NCAA: Benilde squares off vs. EAC with Final Four ticket on the line

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will look to formally seal its Final Four spot when it takes on first round tormentor Emilio Aguinaldo College on Wednesday in NCAA Season 99 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

Benilde will square off with also-ran EAC at 1:30 p.m. in bid to avenge its 78-76 loss last October 20 and clinch the third semifinals berth while top seed Mapua University locks horns with Jose Rizal University at 3:30 p.m. to end its elimination round run.

The Blazers are expected to leave no stone unturned against the Generals as their Season 99 future is at stake.

Benilde is looking to build on the momentum from its 72-54 lopsided win against last season's finals foe Colegio de San Juan de Letran behind the hot-shooting of Mark Sangco and Migs Oczon.

A win against EAC will make them the third Final Four cast alongside top and second seeds Mapua and Lyceum.

Meanwhile, Mapua will look to end its elimination round campaign on a winning note and extend its five-game winning streak against an upset-seeking JRU.

The game has already no bearing for the Cardinals as regardless of the result, they will remain atop of the team standings with a twice-to-beat advantage heading to the next round.

Unlike Mapua, everything is on the line for the Heavy Bombers.

JRU, who is reeling from a 74-69 loss to San Beda last Saturday, is hoping to win this one as it could allow them to force a triple-tie at the third and a playoff given that Benilde and the Red Lions will also lose to EAC and Letran, respectively.
