Yukien Andrada drops new career-high as San Beda stuns Lyceum

In a span of just one week, Yukien Andrada was able to set another career-high after anchoring San Beda University’s 74-56 stunner against second-seed Lyceum of the Philippines University on Tuesday in NCAA Season 99.

The third-year forward picked up where he left off, erupting for a new career-best 26 points to carry the Red Lions to their 11th win in 17 games, allowing them to gain a share of third spot with Benilde at 11-6.

Andrada got off to a hot start, producing 15 of his overall output in the first half alone, highlighted by five triples as San Beda took a 38-30 lead.

He didn’t stop there, adding another 11 markers in the third period including a pair if free throws and his sixth three-pointer that allowed him to shatter his previous career-high of 22 he achieved last November 15 against the Blazers.

His hot shooting rubbed off on his teammates as Peter Alfaro, Jacob Cortez, Nygel Gonzales, and Jomel Puno each launched a triple of their own as part of the the finishing kick for the Red Lions.

The win by San Beda also effectively eliminated semis hopeful University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, who won earlier against San Sebastian.
