San Beda, Perpetual continue respective campaigns for NCAA Final Four spots | NCAA Philippines

San Beda University and University of Perpetual Help System DALTA will look to boost their Final Four hopes when they take on separate foes on Tuesday in NCAA Season 99 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

San Beda will square off with semis-bound Lyceum of the Philippines University at 3:30 p.m. in a bid to gain a share of third spot while Perpetual will tangle against also-ran San Sebastian College-Recoletos at 1:30 p.m. with its own Final Four ambitions on the line.

Both San Beda and Lyceum are coming off back-to-back wins but with the traffic from the third to sixth spots in the standings, the Red Lions are expected to go full throttle to improve their chances.

San Beda is currently on a roll, beating their fellow hopefuls Benilde and JRU to take a crucial 10-6 slate and a win today against the Pirates will catapult them to a two-way tie at the third with the Blazers.

Perpetual, meanwhile, is still on a high after surviving Emilio Aguinaldo College in their do-or-die clash last Saturday behind the leadership of veteran Jielo Razon and three days after, the ALTAs will again plunge into another win or go home situation.

A win will keep the wards of head coach Myk Saguiguit in the running, but they will have to hope and pray that San Beda and JRU will lose in their last games to force a three-way logjam at the fourth and a playoff.

But they should be wary of the Stags, who may be out of contention but could still be dangerous. San Sebastian is coming off two losses in a row at the hands of Benilde and Lyceum that formally sent them crashing out of the semis frame.
