NCAA: Perpetual, EAC fight for dear life; JRU eyes solo third in clash vs. San Beda | NCAA Philippines

University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and Emilio Aguinaldo College will look to keep their respective campaigns alive when they clash in a do-or-die match on Saturday in the NCAA Season 99 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

Both featuring an identical 8-8 win-loss card, Perpetual and EAC will square off at 3 p.m. while San Beda University (9-6) and Jose Rizal University (10-6) will lock horns at 9:30 a.m. with the latter looking to claim third spot.

The ALTAs and the Generals are both coming off losses which make their Saturday match-up very critical as it will dictate whether they will remain in contention or not.

Perpetual recently saw their four-game winning streak get snapped after enduring a 69-53 loss to league-leading Mapua University last Tuesday. Prior to that, the wards of head coach Myk Saguiguit pulled off upset wins against top seeds JRU, San Beda, and Lyceum as well as also-ran Arellano.

Bouncing back will be their mindset against an equally-determined EAC. The Generals, on the other hand, previously fell to JRU that dealt them their eighth loss of the season.

In the first game, JRU will look to reclaim the solo third spot and break a tie at the fourth with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde while San Beda is seeking to bag its second straight win and force a tie at the third with the Blazers.

The Heavy Bombers are coming off back-to-back wins against Letran and EAC while San Beda recently escaped Benilde for a crucial win that put them back in the thick of the intense Final Four race.

Only two semis spots are up for grabs as Mapua and Lyceum have both clinched their semis berths.
