NCAA: JRU, EAC aim to boost Final Four bid in face-off vs. Letran, Arellano | NCAA Philippines

Jose Rizal University and Emilio Aguinaldo College are eyeing to boost their Final Four bid as they take on their respective opponents Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Arellano University on Saturday in NCAA Season 99 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

JRU (8-6) and EAC (7-7) sit fifth and sixth in the standings respectively behind San Beda University at 8-5. Mapua University and Lyceum of the Philippines University share the lead with 11-3, while De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde has a 9-5 win-loss card.

The Heavy Bombers will try to return to the win column after back-to-back losses against University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. However, head coach Louie Gonzales is expected to miss the game after being thrown out from their last game against Benilde.

Letran, despite being eliminated from contention, could play spoiler as the race to the Final Four tightens. 

JRU and Letran will face each other at 3:00 p.m.

At 9:00 a.m., the Generals will go against the Chiefs as the former hope to make it to their first Final Four appearance.

EAC is also coming from two consecutive losses against San Beda and Mapua University, while Arellano aims to end its three-game skid.
