University of Perpetual Help System DALTA wasn’t fazed even after being down big, stunning Colegio de San Juan De Letran with a 73-61 win in the NCAA Season 99 on Wednesday.

Perpetual, who was coming off two close losses to San Beda and Mapua last week, improved to 4-6 while Letran slipped to 1-9.

After trailing by as much as 12 points early, the ALTAs staged a fightback in the fourth period as the Knights were struggling to connect their shots.

A 19-0 rampage instigated by unlikely hero Angelo Gelsano and highlighted by a triple from team captain Jielo Razon, which gave them their first taste of the lead, saw Perpetual ahead by 11, 70-59, with 2:45 left.

Before that, only Paolo Javillonar and Jay Garupil were able to convert for the Knights.

Christian Pagaran put the finishing touches after completing a three-point play opportunity, 73-61.

Cyrus Nitura led Perpetual with a team-high 17 points alongside seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists while Jun Roque starred with a double-double of 16 markers and 12 boards laced with three dimes, two swats, and one block.

Razon finished with 13 points and five assists while Gelsano chimed in with 10 points all in the fourth quarter. John Abis tallied seven points and 16 rebounds as the ALTAs outrebounded the Knights, 54 to 41.
