Ralph Robin’s heroics was on full display as Emilio Aguinaldo College erased a double-digit deficit to stun San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 80-77, in NCAA Season 99 on Tuesday.
EAC bounced back from a previous loss to improve to 6-4 while San Sebastian dropped to 3-7 behind a three-game skid.
San Sebastian buckled down early, leading by as many as 22 points in the first half before entering with a comfortable 50-34 lead.
But the Generals came out with guns blazing in the second half, coming back while also holding the Stags down to just 13 points in the third quarter. They pulled to within five early in the fourth before Nat Cosejo stole the leather and tied it all up at 70-all.
Robin then detonated from the rainbow country with huge back-to-back triples to give the Generals a crucial 76-72 cushion with 1:04 left in the clock.
But Alex Desoyo, whose 12-point outburst in the first half carried the Stags, pulled them back to within two after sinking two freebies, 79-77, in the final 10.7 ticks.
Robin’s split at the charity stripe sealed the come-from-behind victory for the Generals.
