Ry Dela Rosa returns in time as JRU carries momentum to second round | NCAA Philippines

Ry Dela Rosa returned just in time for Jose Rizal University.

After playing in the opening game against Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Dela Rosa missed JRU's next seven games and only returned on Saturday when the Heavy Bombers played Arellano University where they won, 88-72.

"It's fun. [I'm] just very happy to be back and very blessed to have this opportunity to play again," Dela Rosa said in a post-game interview.

"After that first game, I hit my head, after that day, I was lethargic, I would say. They gave me time to rest. After that I got sick, so it kind of prolonged the whole thing, and I was kind of gone for a while. I’m just happy to be in this position and trying to get back to my usual self,” he added.

Now with six wins and three losses, the Heavy Bombers are going into the second round with momentum built from their back-to-back wins against Lyceum of the Philippines University and Arellano University.

For Dela Rosa, he would just find his spot to avoid any major disruptions in the team's performance.

"I'm always a team-first kind of guy so I don't think it will be hard for me to adjust. They've been going on and I would say if it ain't broke, don't fix it, so i just have to add and see what I can do to help the team because we're doing pretty good. They're pretty happy I'm back so we'll see at practice, take it day by day," he added.

Assistant coach Alex Callueng is also happy with Dela Rosa's return.

"We're happy kasi nandito na siya ulit. Nu'ng wala siya, we are really missing his services kasi 'pag off si Argente, nandoon siya. Sana 'wag silang dalawa maging off. Ry is still coping up, ngayon bumabalik na siya slowly. I am really sure he will bounce back," he said.

(We're happy he's here. When he was not here, we were missing his services because he's there when Argente was off. Hopefully they don't come off together. Ry is still coping up and now he is slowly getting back. I am really sure he will bounce back.)
