Seasoned guard Jielo Razon took charge late as University of Perpetual Help System DALTA carved out a 64-50 win against San Sebastian College-Recoletos in the NCAA Season 99 on Friday.
Perpetual snapped its two-game losing skid to return to the win column with a 2-4 card. San Sebastian, meanwhile, slid to a similar 2-4 slate.
Razon was all over the stat sheet with 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals to tow the ALTAs while Christian Pagaran chipped in 14 markers as well.
The ALTAs almost squandered an early 13-point lead as the Stags pulled to within one point late in the third after two free throws from Tristan Felebrico, 40-41.
Cyrus Nitura, however, beat the third quarter buzzer to send Perpetual to a 46-41 cushion before the fourth.
Razon then knocked down a triple as Perpetual reestablished a double-digit advantage halfway through the payoff period, 55-43. He then escaped the defense and drove for a layup to give Perpetual a 62-47 cushion with 3:16 left.
Nitura tallied 13 points on top of five rebounds, two assists, and one steal while Jun Roque had seven markers, seven boards, and two dimes.
Perpetual will hope to build on this momentum when it takes on a winless Colegio de San Juan de Letran squad on Sunday while the Stags will have Emilio Aguinaldo College on the same day.
