Lyceum of the Philippines University needed five more minutes to turn back Arellano University, 89-77, and remain unscathed in the NCAA Season 99 on Friday.
The Pirates improved to an immaculate 5-0 card while the Chiefs dropped to 0-4.
JM Bravo, who was scoreless in the first half, buried back-to-back baskets in the overtime before Greg Cunanan escaped the defense for a layup as their lead ballooned to 10, 85-75, with 1:48 left after they trailed by as many as 24 points.
Cunanan then completed two free throws as Lyceum cruised to a wild come-from-behind victory.
After building a 19-point halftime lead, the Chiefs turned it into a 55-31 affair early in the third after a corner triple from team captain Danielle Mallari.
However, the Pirates unleashed a wild 18-2 run to close out the frame staring at a single-digit deficit, 57-49, even after big man Shawn Umali fouled out halfway through.
Enoch Valdez waxed hot during that juncture, knocking down 11 of his overall output to pump life back to the Pirates.
Arellano had every answer to Lyceum as Dominic Dayrit buried two triples to send the Chiefs back up by 13, 67-54.
Mclaude Guadaña, however, sank a huge triple with 15 ticks left to send the game into extra period, 75-all.
Valdez starred with his first double-double outing in the season, churning out 26 points and 14 rebounds laced with four steals and one block while Guadaña tallied 20 markers, five boards, and one steal.
Bravo finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocks.
