Gab Cometa transfers to 'dream school' Benilde

Gab Cometa is bringing his talents to Taft Avenue.

Cometa confirmed to GMA Integrated News on Friday his transfer to De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

"Yes, [I'm] going to Benilde," Cometa said in a message.

Cometa's exit from San Beda University was first reported in late May.

"I chose Benilde because ito rin 'yung dream school ko," said the former guard of the Red Lions.

("I chose Benilde because this is also my dream school.")

In NCAA Season 98, Cometa posted averages of 4.6 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Cometa is the latest Red Lion to move out of Mendiola following Rhayyan Amsali, who transferred to UST, and Tony Ynot and Justine Sanchez who like Cometa will also play for the Taft-based squad.

Cometa, along with Ynot, Sanchez, and former Emilio Aguinaldo College big man Allen Liwag will be eligible to play come NCAA's centennial season.

Prior to playing for San Beda, Cometa also had a stint in the University of the Visayas.
