Will Gozum to return for final year with Benilde, eyes NCAA championship | NCAA Philippines

NCAA Season 98 Most Valuable Player Will Gozum will play out his final year for De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

"One more year!" the big man told GMA Integrated News in a message on Monday.

Talks of Gozum potentially skipping his last playing year surfaced after the Blazers fell short in their finals run against Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Season 98, with the idea that the Taft tower may play professionally either in the country or abroad.

Up until late May, Benilde head coach Charles Tiu said Gozum was still undecided due to his fractured finger.

Gozum also suited up for the Quezon Huskers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League during the offseason.

With his return confirmed, Gozum said he has only one goal in mind: the NCAA title.

"I want to win [a] championship," Gozum said.

"It's been 20+ years since mag-champion ang Benilde and I also want to build [a] winning culture [na] 'pag sinabing Benilde, kailangan paghandaan talaga."

(It's been more than 20 years since Benilde won a championship. I also want to build a winning culture that when they say Benilde, they get ready for it.)

Aside from Gozum, the Season 98 runners-up will still have the services of veterans such as Miggy Corteza, Migs Oczon, Robi Nayve, and Prince Carlos for next season.

NCAA Season 99 is expected to start September this year.
