The Collegiate Press Corps is set to recognize some of the best student-athletes as the Collegiate Press Corps Awards Night returns after almost four years.
For the first time since 2019, the Press Corps will recognize top varsity players in basketball from 2019-20, 2021-22, and 2022-23, and the top volleyball players of the past two collegiate seasons. Team coaches will also be recognized in the said affair.
In the NCAA, the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights have been a force to be reckoned with as it completed three straight championships, while over in the UAAP, Ateneo de Manila University dominated in Season 82 and 85, with University of the Philippines breaking their almost four-decade title drought in Season 84.
Meanwhile in volleyball, the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers have swept the past two seasons to win the championship, while National University also broke their 60-year title drought in Season 84 before De La Salle University regained the crown in Season 85.
The awards night set to be done at The Hummingbird Rooftop Bar in Quezon City, is presented by San Miguel Corporation and the Philippine Sports Commission, and supported by MNL Kingpin, Tinapayan Festival, and Jockey. The Awards are also supported by Robinsons Supermarket, Robinson Appliances, and Handyman.
