Even at the age of 16, many basketball fans are already starting to look up to Andy Gemao — the high-flying 6-foot guard from the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Squires.

But Gemao bared that there are three players from previous Letran Knights squads whom he considers his idols.

Topping his list is Rhenz Abando. Abando steered Letran to the Season 97 throne for the first of back-to-back titles. He was also named the MVP and Rookie of the Year.

Next on Gemao’s list is Rey Nambatac. Like Gemao, Nambatac, who now plays for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the PBA, is also a product of the Squires. Nambatac was the juniors Rookie of the Year in 2010 while he was named the MVP the following year.

Completing Gemao’s idol roster is Kevin Alas. Now part of the NLEX Road Warriors, Alas is among the best players produced by Letran. He was a two-time member of the Mythical Team while also representing the country in various international tournaments.
