Allen Liwag took everyone by surprise when his agent, EOG Sports Management, announced on Friday night that the incoming junior is leaving Emilio Aguinaldo College after two seasons.

Liwag explained that he wants to continue growing as a player and in order to do that, the 6-foot-6 big man believes he needs a new environment.

“[For] personal growth. Need ng new environment,” Liwag told GMA Integrated News in a message.

Asked where he will be heading next, Liwag said nothing is certain as of the moment but said he will be always thankful for the Generals and head coach Oliver Bunyi.

“Hinding hindi ko makakalimutan lahat ng natutunan ko kay Coach Oliver. Forever grateful ako sa EAC community,” he added.

Bunyi, though, was mum on the matter, saying he isn’t in the position as of the moment to make a comment. He, however, confirmed Liwag’s departure.

With Liwag’s exit, EAC will be left with senior Nat Cosejo, Mac Balowa, Adam and Andrey Doria, Joshua Tolentino, and Nicole Quinal as they look to redeem themselves come NCAA Season 99.
