'Job's not done': NCAA MVP Will Gozum hopes to complete dream run with a title

Will Gozum may have bagged the NCAA Season 98 Most Valuable Player plum, but the 6-foot-6 big man was in no mood to celebrate just yet, keeping his sights on the title he hopes to deliver for De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

"Focused lang kami kasi 'pag inisip ko 'yung award, feel ko mawawala eh. One game at a time lang kami, 'yung team gusto naming manalo," Gozum shared.

"Gusto talaga naming makuha 'yung Game Two para may chance pa kami and syempre alam namin na uuwi sila JC and 'yung mga seniors namin na malungkot so give lang kami ng best namin lagi."

The Blazers evened their best-of-three finals series against Colegio de San Juan de Letran with a 76-71 Game 2 victory to send it to winner-take-all Game Three come next Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Gozum was hailed the Season MVP, becoming the first Benilde player to be crowned since Jay Sagad in 2005.

"Sobrang thankful kami dahil magkakaro'n pa ng Game Three sa Ynares and hopefully makuha namin 'yung kampeonato," added the 23-year-old Gozum.

"Para sa akin, mas maraming sasaya kapag nakuha namin 'yung championship."
