De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde big man Will Gozum capped what has been a dominant outing so far as he was crowned the runaway Most Valuable Player of the NCAA Season 98 men's basketball tournament.
The 6-foot-6 slotman garnered 49.88 Player Average Value (PAV) to take home the most coveted award in the league.
Gozum was also named to the Mythical Five where he was joined by Arellano University first year Cade Flores, who was hailed the Rookie of the Year after collecting 43.33 PAV.
Completing the Mythical team are the one-two punch of San Beda University in JB Bahio (42.61 PAV) and James Kwekuteye (41.50 PAV) as well as King Caralipio of Colegio de San Juan de Letran (39.94 PAV).
Flores also bagged the Defensive Player of the Year while Bahio, Gozum, Mark Omega of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, and Romel Calahat of San Sebastian College-Recoletos round out the Defensive Team.
Shawn Umali of Lyceum of the Philippines University, who made it all the way to the Final Four, was named the Most Improved Player after soaring to 22nd place in statistical points ranking this season from 109 in Season 97.
