No celebration just yet for Brent Paraiso as Letran has eyes on three-peat

Brent Paraiso lit it up late for Colegio de San Juan de Letran in their Final Four win against Lyceum of the Philippines University on Tuesday, scoring the last seven points for the Knights en route to a 67-58 win for a ticket to the NCAA Season 98 Finals.

But while he was among the key cogs in the victory, the graduating guard refused to celebrate, stressing the job is far from done as they eye to complete a rare three-peat gem for the Muralla crew.

"Siguro 'pag nagawa na namin, doon ko lang mararamdaman 'yung saya kasi medyo wala pa," Paraiso said as he finished with nine points, five rebounds, and three assists.

"Meron pa kaming Finals tsaka malakas pa 'yung kalaban."

Paraiso, who posted averages of 11.13 points, 4.13 rebounds, and 2.56 assists at the end of the elimination round, knows their road to the title won't be easy as they will be up against a gritty and hungry De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde team eager to quench a 22-year title drought for the school.

Paraiso is also not dwelling on the fact that they swept the Blazers in the regular season. But nonetheless, he vowed to pour his hearts out in the best-of-three series which starts this Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

"Siguro ibibigay ko na lang 'yung best ko every game lalo na ngayong playoffs. Importante 'yung composure. Sa tingin ko 'yun lang siguro 'yung nangyari ngayong game, na mas naging composed kami," he added.

"'Di ko masabi na llamado kami. Malakas 'yung lineup nila. No. 1 sila, no. 2 kami. Expect na lang nila na ibibigay namin yung best namin."
