The referees who officiated the game between Jose Rizal University and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will be investigated, the NCAA Management Committee said on Wednesday.
Peter Cayco of Arellano University said league commissioner Tonichi Pujante already has initial findings regarding the game officials, namely Anthony Sulit, Dennis Escaros, and Antonio Baguion.
The committee, meanwhile, will await Pujante's formal recommendations before acting on the matter.
"Meron na siyang initial findings. He will just have to formalize and submit it with the ManCom for approval," Cayco said in a press conference.
Cayco added that the spectators who allegedly triggered Amores before his outburst will likewise be called for investigation.
"Even sa spectators, meron din kaming ipapatawag."
Fr. Vic Calvo of Colegio de San Juan de Letran admitted that there were security lapses during the rampage from Amores, but said they won't allow the same incident to happen again in the future.
"There were security lapses. And on the part of the referees and coaches with the players, we have to communicate to them the essence of the game for them to realize the values," Calvo said.
"Mahirap gawin pero sa security, we can do it with the security personnel of the Arena, sa referees we have the commissioner to control the game. Too much physicality perhaps, so next time they won't allow it."
