San Beda University and Mapua University will look to extend their respective streaks when they take on separate foes on Wednesday in NCAA Season 98.
San Beda and Mapua, both of whom are on a three-game win streak, will clash with Lyceum of the Philippines University and Arellano University at 3 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
San Beda is currently in solo third place, but a win over Lyceum will further bolster the Red Lions' hold of it as they currently feature a 9-4 card while Lyceum is just a loss behind with a 9-5 slate.
After a slow start to the season, the Mendiola-based squad has rediscovered its rhythm after having won against San Sebastian College-Recoletos in overtime with big man Damie Cuntapay showing the way. That victory allowed the Red Lions to make it three straight wins in a row and they would want nothing but to extend it to four.
But they will be up against the Pirates, who are also coming off a big win over University of Perpetual Help System DALTA over the weekend that saw sophomore John Barba take over.
In the opening game, Mapua will also look to stretch its win streak to four against no easy foe in Arellano.
The Cardinals, who are on a three-game winning run, are fresh off a statement 74-49 drubbing of Jose Rizal University last Wednesday with sniper Joaqui Garcia lighting it up from downtown.
Arellano, on the other hand, is also high on morale after previously beating JRU despite a depleted roster as key players in Cade Flores and Shane Menina remained injured.
