JRU coach reveals hero Agem Miranda was actually the last option in game-winning play

With their backs against the wall, the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers were left with only 2.6 seconds to manufacture a last-gasp attempt to win against Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Head coach Louie Gonzalez fielded hot-shooting Ry Dela Rosa, William Sy, and John Amores, whose huge three-pointer brought them back to within one, 60-59, after the Generals erased what was once a 17-point JRU lead.

But it was Agem Miranda, the team's last option on this particular play, who nailed that game-winning jumper over JC Luciano off a dish from JL Delos Santos to send the Heavy Bombers to a 61-60 hard-fought victory.

"Alam natin na magkakaro'n ng mga switching and Agem was the last option actually and talagang sumama 'yung dalawa kay Amores then siya 'yung nagkaron ng window na mapasahan ni JL," Gonzalez shared.

"And I really trust JL doon sa decision-making niya."

Miranda finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds as JRU snapped its three-game losing streak to get back on the win column.

With his veteran drilling the most important shot, Gonzalez also credited Delos Santos for making "a very hard" inbound pass.

"I also commend JL there fr making that very hard pass. Napakahirap nung pasa na 'yun."
