All eyes were on defending champion Colegio de San Juan de Letran before NCAA Season 98 started.
And despite some early hiccups early in the season, the Knights have lived up to their billing, winning their last seven games to stand at 10-3.
But can the Knights sustain their hot streak all the way to the title?
"Hangga't kaya namin, itutuloy namin basta one game at a time lang," Louie Sangalang said after powering Letran past first round tormentor Lyceum of the Philippines University on Friday.
"Play to win."
Letran head coach Bonnie Tan stressed finishing the second round on a high note is all their motivation right now, especially after absorbing three losses in the opening round.
"We're aiming for the top two so the boys are motivated to finish the second round on a high note," he said.
"'Yung mga tumalo sa amin, syempre gusto namin maka-recover kasi nga sinasabi namin na next year na ulit tayo makakabawi sa kanila. Kailangan natin manalo to separate 'yung win-loss kasi dikit-dikit kasi sa taas so hindi tayo pwedeng matalo."
