Bonnie Tan pleased to see sixth man King Caralipio show consistent, mature game for Letran

Colegio de San Juan de Letran head coach Bonnie Tan admitted they didn't have the best start to their second round meeting against Arellano University on Friday.

But thanks to King Caralipio, the Knights were able to pull away late for a 65-53 revenge win as they bagged their fifth consecutive win for an 8-3 card.

"Kumbaga siya 'yung sixth man namin eh. Siya 'yung kung anong mali 'yung ginagawa ng first group namin, 'yun ang pinapalitan niya," Tan shared.

"And consistent naman si King sa both ends of the floor. Masaya ako for King na nag-mature 'yung laro niya sa last season niya."

Caralipio has been solid off the bench so far for the defending champions. Prior to the game against Arellano, the senior baller was averaging 11.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.6 steals for the Knights.

Today, Caralipio churned out a double-double of 13 markers, 11 in the second half, and 13 boards to go along with one assist and one steal to help Letran cruise to its eighth win in 11 outings.

"Sa halftime, chinallenge ko na 'yung mga players ko kasi last game against Arellano, during the first half we're up pero natapos kami talo," Tan added.

"So chinallenge ko lang 'yung mga players na kalimutan na natin 'yung first half and baliktarin natin 'yung scenario na tayo naman 'yung down sa halftime and sana tayo naman ang panalo."
