Letran coach glad to see returning Sangalang, Paraiso control emotions vs San Sebastian

Colegio de San Juan de Letran head coach Bonnie Tan admitted that the return of Louie Sangalang and Brent Paraiso from their two-game suspension was a big help in their 77-69 escape of San Sebastian College-Recoletos on Wednesday.

Big man Sangalang finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two blocks while Paraiso chipped in 10 markers, four boards, three dimes, and one steal as the Knights snapped their two-game losing slump.

But while the two key players made their presence felt on both ends, Tan was most happy to see Sangalang and Paraiso control their emotions.

Sangalang and Paraiso were both slapped with suspensions after getting ejected in their game against Mapua University last week, forcing them to miss their losses to San Beda University and Lyceum of the Philippines University.

"Obviously we needed them lalo na sa mga endgame so they're few remaining veterans namin so talagang 'pag nawala sila... you can see in the past two games namin na we don't have the finishing kick na hinahanap namin sa mga rookies," Tan said.

"I'm happy kasi at least may katulong si King Caralipio kanina sa game."

Tan also said he's expecting Sangalang to continue making the necessary adjustments as he was "given a stern warning that any similar action in the future will merit suspension for the remainder of the season."

"Kanina naman medyo na-control niya (Sangalang) 'yung (emotions niya) although na-foul out but I'm happy na nag-a-adjust silang dalawa."
