De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will look to stretch its winning streak to three when it takes on a winless Mapua University on Wednesday in the NCAA Season 98 while two other teams will be eyeing to end their respective slumps.

Benilde and Mapua go at it in the opening salvo at 12 p.m. while defending champion Colegio de San Juan de Letran and San Sebastian College-Recoletos will hope to get back on winning track at 3 p.m. at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Benilde is currently on a roll, winning its last two games against Arellano University and Emilio Aguinaldo College to maintain atop the standings with a 5-1 slate. The Blazers, whose lone loss came at the hands of defending champion Letran, are tipped to rely anew on the one-two punch of Will Gozum and Migs Oczon.

Gozum is currently the second leading scorer in the league with an average of 16.67 while transferee Oczon is at fourth spot with 14.5.

They will be up against the Cardinals, who are very much eager to put an end to their ongoing misery that came after a Finals appearance in the previous season.

Meanwhile, three-peat seeking Letran is out to get back to its winning ways after dropping their last two outings against San Beda University and Lyceum of the Philippines University, both of which saw the Knights with an undermanned roster.

Louie Sangalang and Brent Paraiso served their two-game suspension while Paolo Javillonar missed the game against the Pirates due to injury. But they are expected to return once they face the Stags.

San Sebastian, for its part, has also lost its last two games after absorbing defeats to San Beda and University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
