Games today:
12 p.m. - Perpetual vs JRU
3 p.m. - CSB vs Lyceum
With the success of the opening day of NCAA Season 98, four other schools will begin their respective campaigns on Sunday as the league returns to Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.
University of Perpetual Help System Help DALTA, which is hoping to return to the Final Four, will go up against a new-look Jose Rizal University in the opening salvo slated at 12 p.m.
De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, meanwhile, will square off with Lyceum of the Philippines University at 3 p.m. as both teams look to open their bids on the right foot.
Perpetual is looking to pick up where its left off after they pulled off a surprise playoff entry last Season 97, finishing with a 4-5 win-loss slate after the elimination round before the Altas bested CSB and Arellano in the play-in stage.
And the wards of head coach Myk Saguiguit are hoping to eclipse their previous performance, especially with an intact roster led by veterans Kim Aurin, Jielo Razon, and Jeff Egan.
Their first game, though, won't be a walk in the park as JRU will parade a new-look crew spearheaded by the comebacking Ry Dela Rosa and other key cogs JL Delos Santos and Jason Celis.
Meanwhile, CSB is looking to bounce back from a Season 97 heartbreak where they actually finished the elimination round in fourth place but was booted out of Final Four contention after two losses in the play-in.
The Blazers will be up against a Lyceum side that is virtually intact as Enoch Valdez, Omar Larupay, John Barba, Renzo Navarro, and Mclaude Guadaña led the holdovers.
