Louie Alas, Frankie Lim, Jojo Lastimosa among choices for San Beda head coaching job

The search is far from over for the new San Beda Red Lions head coach.

While Aldin Ayo and Yuri Escueta have been floated as front-runners for the opening left by Boyet Fernandez, three more names are actually on the list, according to a source with knowledge of the search process.

Among the names that are also included in the shortlist are Louie Alas, Frankie Lim, and Jojo Lastimosa.

Alas formerly handled the Letran Knights, while Frankie Lim is not new for the Mendiola-based squad as he previously handled the team. Lim had four titles with San Beda as head coach in 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011.

Meanwhile, Lastimosa is part of the coaching staff of the NLEX Road Warriors.

The source also said the three other candidates "have a better chance" than Ayo.

"Ayo is a longshot," the source added.

Fernandez ended his stint as San Beda head coach after the Red Lions missed the Finals in NCAA Season 97.
