3 p.m. – EAC vs CSB

The Mapua Cardinals and the College of Saint Benilde Blazers will both look to keep their winning streaks going as they take on separate rivals in the NCAA Season 97 games on Tuesday at the La Salle Green Hills Gym.

Mapua (2-0), still undefeated for the season, will take on San Sebastian (1-1) in the 12 pm opener while CSB (2-1) battles Emilio Aguinaldo College (1-2) at 3 p.m.

Both the Cardinals and Blazers are seeking third consecutive wins.

Mapua defeated EAC, 73-67, in their first assignment before escaping Jose Rizal University, 59-56, last Friday. A third win would draw them even with early season leaders Letran and San Beda, who are both at 3-0.

Rence Nocum is averaging 14. points per game to lead the Cardinals while Warren Bonifacio is posting 9.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in Mapua’s first two games.

San Sebastian, meanwhile, notched its first win of the season last Friday in a come-from-behind effort against Perpetual Help, 63-58. They will again try to lean JM Calma and Rommel Calahat as they look to make it back-to-back wins.

In the other matchup, Benilde will try to build on the momentum of their victories against LPU and Arellano. Robi Nayve and Will Gozum have both put in strong performances in their last two outings and are expected to play big roles again opposite EAC.

But it won’t be easy against a Marwin Taywan-led Generals side that has been competitive all of their games so far, including a close 85-81 loss to San Beda.
