Colegio de San Juan de Letran and San Beda University, who both sit atop the team standings, will be aiming nothing less than a victory as they tackle separate foes on Sunday in the NCAA Season 97.

Game time is at 12 p.m. with the defending champions Knights going up against the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas at the La Salle Green Hills Gym while the Red Lions tangle with winless Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers at 3 p.m.

Dubbed as one of the favorites, Letran was coming off twin wins against College of Saint Benilde and Arellano University for an early 2-0 slate, a good start for its title retention bid.

Leading the Knights are transferee Rhenz Abando, and veterans Jeo Ambohot, Tommy Olivario, and Louie Sangalang, who are some of the remnants from the Season 95 champion team.

But against the Altas, the Knights will remain wary as the Myk Saguiguit-mentored club could prove to be thorns to the side of Letran. Perpetual is currently fifth in the standings with an even 1-1 card.

Meanwhile, the Red Lions will have their eyes on a third consecutive win as they continue their redemption bid.

The wards of Boyet Fernandez will look to add woes to the struggling Heavy Bombers who are fresh from absorbing a heartbreaking loss to Mapua University just last Friday as they sank to a 0-2 hole.

San Beda took care of its first two assignments, turning back Lyceum of the Philippines University and Emilio Aguinaldo College.
