NCAA Season 97 preview: Letran eyes title defense with reinforced roster

Two years after a historic championship run in Season 95, things are still looking rosy for the Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

The Intramuros-based squad may have lost some key players but key holdovers in the likes of Fran Yu, Jeo Ambohot, and Allen Mina will dictate the pace for the Knights come the Season 97, which opens curtains this Saturday.

Still with the team are King Caralipio, Neil Guarino, Mark Sangalang, Paolo Javillonar, Tommy York Olivario, and Kurt Spencer Reyson, all of whom were part of the last Letran team that edged San Beda in their best-of-three championship affair.

But the team will also be welcoming the much-awaited debut of the dynamic duo of Rhenz Abando and Brent Paraiso as well as the return of Christian Fajarito.

Completing the 15-man Letran roster are KD Ariar, Kyle Tolentino, and former high school standout Jimly Lantaya.

Veteran mentor Bonnie Tan will remain as the Letran tactician as the school eyes to defend the title.

The NCAA Season 97 live games air every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday to Sunday at 12:00 NN on GTV with replays every Monday and Thursday at 3:00 PM on GTV.
