MC Abolucion and RJ Argamino’s entire NCAA journeys for College of St. Benilde (CSB) were ones for the books but there are moments that still stand out in their heads.
For Abolucion, who played for the school from 2007 to 2012, the Blazers’ historic triple overtime win against the Arellano University back in 2009 was his most favorite moment while still in the CSB halls.
According to him, it was an epic moment since reaching three extra periods in a game rarely happens in the NCAA, or any league for that matter.
“My most memorable one while still playing for the school would probably be the triple overtime against Arellano,” said Abolucion, who also serves as assistant coach for the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
“And the best part of it was we won so the having to play for three overtimes was all worth it.”

Argamino, meanwhile, said his whole run with CSB, both as a player and as a student, was memorable.
The incoming PBA rookie said finding ways to juggle his studies while also fulfilling his duties as an athlete may be challenging but it would always be a cherished time in his career.
“For me actually, there was a lot of experience as a student-athlete in Benilde that I can’t forget and I really miss those times,” Argamino recalled on ‘Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96’.
“I enjoyed those times where I would have to train in the morning then all the energy left is what you’ll use to fight for the school during games. You really have to be creative in managing your time.”
