Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, even for a student-athlete like Adrian Clarence Nocum of the Mapua University.
The basketball ace shared on 'Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96' that during the pandemic, he channeled his business-minded side after setting up frappe and milk tea ventures as well as selling various products like steak, cordon bleu, and jersey shorts.
“When I wake up in the morning, I will complete my home workout then attend my classes, which are usually in the afternoon,” he shared on Sunday.
“Then after my classes, I will then start selling since frappe and milk tea products are in demand at night.”
The 21-year-old cager shared that his ‘diskarte’ in selling these products helped him get through the economic challenges brought by the pandemic.
“For me, a resourceful person will do everything beyond his means just to help his family, parents and kids and just like me, will try everything,” said Nocum, whose team finished Season 95 at sixth place with a 9-9 win-loss card.
“The important things to have are hard work and persistence.”
