'Rise Up Stronger' pilot episode just the tip of the iceberg, hosts Javier and Senoron vow

The ‘Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96', the newest sports show airing on GMA Network, finally took off on Sunday with its pilot episode and  it was quickly well-received by the audience.

According to hosts Martin Javier and Sophia Senoron, they received good comments and reactions from sports fans after the Sunday premiere, where they had Topex Robinson and Rodney Santos as guests.

“It was nerve-wracking for me but once na tumawid na ‘yung pilot at maganda ‘yung naging resulta, maganda rin ‘yung mga naging reaction ng mga tao, thankfully, medyo gumaan na ‘yung pakiramdam ko at mas naging grateful pa ako,” Martin said on Aubrey Carampel’s report for ‘24 Oras’ on Monday.

“People messaged me with photos of me from the arena when I used to watch the San Beda games so syempre nakakataba ng puso,” shared Senoron.

Aside from Robinson and Santos, Starstruck Season 7 Ultimate Survivor Kim de Leon also visited the studio where he got to learn some basketball tricks.

But while the first installment was a success, both Javier and Senoron vowed to keep their momentum going and offer more insightful and fun episodes moving forward.

“Ang daming varieties ang binibigay sa audience, we want the audience to get to see the not-so-serious part of the athletes,” shared Senoron, who was the Miss Multinational Philippines back in 2017.

Javier said they will soon have onboard some Kapuso actors like Dingdong Dantes and Derek Ramsay as they talk to NCAA athletes and coaches.

“Sobrang dami pang challenges, bukingan with the athletes and of course, daily may mga special guests tayo sa studio and via Zoom as well,” the male host spilled.

“We have Derek Ramsay, Richard Gomez, Marco Alcaraz and we’re very privileged to have Mr. Dingdong Dantes who used to be a part of San Beda Red Corps.”

Watch 'Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96' every weekday (2:45 p.m.) Saturdays (4:30 p.m), and Sundays (5:05 p.m.) on GTV!
