Perpetual 'wins' NCAA game, but still loses by forfeit for wearing wrong uniform

The Perpetual Altas brought the wrong set of uniform for their matchup on Tuesday against College of Saint Benilde, and it ended up costing them dearly.

The Altas won the game, 69-65, but the NCAA Management Committee decided to forfeit the result in favor of the Blazers after Perpetual wore maroon jerseys for the game instead of their designated light uniforms.

“Any athlete whose playing uniform does not conform with the rules, first offense is ineligible to participate in a given game,” said NCAA Management Committee chairman Fr. Glyn Ortega, OAR, of San Sebastian in a statement.

It was a double-whammy for Perpetual as their juniors counterparts also forfeited their matchup. —JST, GMA News
