The vocalist and songwriter Gab revealed about the song, "It is highly based on experience. Every time I make a song, I want it to always relate with other people. This song specifically encapsulates my experiences in the past as well as in the present. The idea is that when you enter a relationship, it's quite a rollercoaster ride. You learn to adjust and to accept the flaws and imperfections the other person has."
