Plume talks about inspiration behind new song 'Kidlat'

Get ready for another self-love anthem!

Baguio-based singer-songwriter Plume is set to release his new song "Kidlat," his third single under GMA Music's AltG Records, on February 21.

Plume wrote "Kidlat" last year. The song is about someone experiencing love unexpectedly when he thought he was over with the concept of falling in love.

"I used 'Kidlat' kasi they always surprise anyone na malapit po sa binagsakan ng kidlat. It always startles people, and when we're around others, it's always a funny or joyous little moment that people laugh about," he shared.

The singer used lightning (getting struck by it) as a metaphor for love, which is the same as unexpectedly falling in love with someone.

Furthermore, he admitted that the song is based on his personal experience.

Plume said, "Gusto ko lang po na i-share yung fondness ko towards this experience of mine to other people and hopefully help them relate with the song."

"Maybe also give them the hope na kung wala man silang jowa ngayon, they may come when they least expect it," he added.

The singer wanted the listeners to feel the anticipation of a lightning strike when listening to his song.

Plume's second single, "Panggap" was released in August last year. His debut single, "Beautiful," was also released the same year.
