SkyGarden collaborates with Jillian Ward on new song 'Soredemo'
Japanese trio SkyGarden is back with a new love song titled "Soredemo" (Even Though).
SkyGarden, a Japanese trio consisting Ryo, Hiro, and Iwa, is gearing up to launch a new single titled "Soredemo," which means "Even Though" in English.
This will be their third single under GMA Music's sub-label AltG Records, following "KOKOA" in September 2023 and "HISTORIA" in January 2024.
"Soredemo" is a song about two people whose love is meant to be, even though it feels impossible. The title highlights the song's message that even though difficulties and obstacles are trying to keep them apart, their commitment to each other is unwavering. SkyGarden wants to convey how powerful love is through this song.
"The message expresses the power of love and unyielding spirits sa kahit na anong situation," Hiro said in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com.
Ryo added, "Kahit na maraming challenges, difficulties, we will still fight for our love. I think kahit sino naman po mayroong ganito like it's not just love between a boy and a girl, mayroon din sa family, kapatid.
"I love the song kasi it's like 'Mahal na mahal kita, kahit na.' So, ibig sabihin I will fight for our love even though kahit na ganito 'yung situation. I'm seeing the song na gusto kong maging ganoong tao na I will fight for my love."
SkyGarden collaborated with Kapuso actress Jillian Ward on the recording of the song. According to the group, they were eager to work with the actress, especially after discovering that she also sings.
"Gusto talaga namin si Jillian Ward [maka-collab] kasi we were checking Instagram tapos nakita namin si Jillian Ward nasa Japan. Tapos sobrang Japanese din 'yung looks n'ya. I've heard that she loves Japan. Tapos nu'ng sinearch namin 'yung name n'ya sa YouTube, kumakanta rin siya, 'yung mga old songs cover.
"Nu'ng narinig po namin, especially doon sa recording studio, goosebumps. Sobrang mabait talaga siya. I was so amazed how she [puts] effort in singing our song. Mayroon din kasi s'yang Japanese lyrics kaya nagtatanong s'ya 'Tama ba 'yung tono Ryo, gusto mo ba ganito, ganyan? Sobrang masaya makatrabaho," Ryo shared.
"Soredemo" will be released on digital music platforms on September 20.
