Mikee Quintos recalls love story with Paul Salas in new single 'Senyales'
Mikee Quintos shares her courtship stage with Paul Salas in new song "Senyales".
Mikee Quintos is back with new music for her latest single under GMA Playlist, titled "Senyales."
The song is her comeback single after her single "Just Enough" in 2021.
According to Mikee, "Senyales" captures the emotions from a slow-burn type of romance and describes the mixed signals people face in the beginning stages of dating.
"The composer of the song is Ate Tasha and when we were recording it together, we changed a few words, nag-suggest [ako] ng konting adjustments," Mikee shared.
"It gave me a nostalgic feeling while we were recording it."
Mikee said her love story with her boyfriend Paul Salas inspired the song.
"Binalikan ko 'yung mga memories namin sa The Lost Recipe, kung saan slowly kami na-develop ni Paul, and alam niyo 'yung kapag nasa relationship kayo, tapos nag-uumpisa pa lang 'yung love life n'yo with someone."
"Tapos puro mixed signals at senyales pa lang kayo. At kahit senyas kayo nang senyas, hindi nakukuha 'yung mga signal n'yo."
"So, ayun 'yung inspiration, that kind of situation."
Mikee also revealed how she dealt with the mixed signals in her own relationship while it was still new.
"Isang taon, isang taon na ganun, na puro mga senyales. Isang taon na ang labo na puro mga senyales," she recalled with laughter.
"Okay naman, mukhang nakuha niya naman 'yung mga senyales ko after a year," she added.
"Back then, I remember feeling na kahit naiinip ako, may kilig. I was enjoying 'yung part na 'yun kasi I knew it wouldn't last kasi aabot sa next stage 'yung relationship."
"Yes, ganun ako ka-confident na aabot sa next stage 'yung relationship," Mikee said.
"'Yung vibe ng song is more mellow, relaxed, acoustic lang. Pop pero relaxed pop, hindi upbeat. Slow pop, I think 'yun 'yung best na tawag sa kanya."
