OPM band Sala reveals plan and upcoming activities with their first single 'Hi Tita!'
Sala is gearing up to launch their debut single "Hi Tita!" which will be available on digital music platforms on March 15.
It's only been a month since they signed a recording contract with GMA Music's sublabel AltG Records but OPM band Sala has already a lot on their plate with their upcoming debut single "Hi Tita!"
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Sala talked about their plans and coming activities with the record label.
"Gumagawa kami ngayon ng mga piano version ng mga song namin and nagpa-practice para sa mga live gigs," Sala's leader Neth Macam said.
Fourth Tayag continued, "I think more experience doing live gig. We have four gigs lined up for March, so we're really excited about that.
"Gumagawa rin kami ng content for social media reach. We also have plans to record other songs, we have like three songs we would want to have recorded and then nagpe-pre prod kami for it."
Aside from live gigs, Sala is now preparing for the release of their single "Hi Tita!" which will be available on digital music platforms this Friday, March 15. The song is now available for pre-order on iTunes until March 14.
"Hi Tita!" is a song about aging single people who have devoted much of their time to their respective careers and are now facing the pressure of living up to their family's expectations regarding their status in life.
Through their song, Sala hopes that more people would be able to hear their music. Right now, the band's goal is to record and produce more good, relatable songs.
"Step by step siguro. Kasi kailangan namin marinig lang talaga ng mga tao. Kung saan kami dalhin masaya na kami roon. Ang importante nadadagdagan 'yung song na naririnig sa amin," Neth shared.
"Kasi 'yun 'yung reason kung bakit kami pumunta rito sa studio para i-record 'yung mga kanta. Knowing that the songs are good and very relatable. Gusto lang namin ma-record and maiparinig namin sa mga kaibigan namin." Fourth added.
"I think it's just icing on the cake na naging recording artist kami. Wala talaga sa plano 'yun e. Gusto lang namin i-continue 'yung gusto naming gawin from the start. And then maybe make this our livelihood, our main jam, and to be known as really good band in the music industry."
Sala was formed in February 2023. The band members are Neth Macam (vocalist and keyboardist), Ronald Villadir (bassist), Fourth Tayag (percussion drums player), and Rigil Kentaurus Borromeo (electric guitar player and producer).
