Japanese trio SkyGarden drops music video of debut single 'KOKOA'
Listen to SkyGarden's "KOKOA," now out on all digital music streaming platforms.
SkyGarden, a Japanese trio consisting of Ryo, Hiro, and Iwa, has released the music video for "KOKOA," their first self-composed and produced single as signed recording artists of GMA Music's sub-label AltG Records.
The group produced its own music video, which was filmed in both Japan and the Philippines. Written by Ryo Nagatsuka, "KOKOA" is based on the high school love story of Iwa Maegawa.
"Noong high school po kasi kami may isa siyang crush na classmate niya. Hinahabol niya, ginagalingan niya para maging girlfriend niya. Binibigyan ng mga rosas, messages na marami, pero hindi natupad. Mayroon siyang experience na ganu'n, so we made it into a song," Ryo shared in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com.
The title of the song is a shortened term for the Japanese phrase "Kokoro kara Aishiteru," which means "I love you from the bottom of my heart." The song's music was based on the Japanese anime OBB/CBB, but they decided to use Tagalog lyrics to give it Pinoy vibes.
"KOKOA" landed at number six on the iTunes Philippines chart during its release on September 1. It is now available for streaming on all digital music platforms worldwide.
Ryo, Hiro, and Iwa are well-known content creators with over 18 million views online since they started their group in 2022, where they immerse themselves in Filipino culture. Their group officially signed a recording contract with AltG Records on July 28.
