Vilmark Viray shares how "Lisan" helped him cope with father's death

The Clash Season 4 runner-up Vilmark Viray has just released his new single "Lisan" which deals with grief in losing a loved one. He said during his Kapuso Brigade interview, "I dedicate this song to my father who recently passed away last December, 'yung feeling na na-release ko na 'yung song na dedicated ko sa tatay ko, alam niyo 'yung feeling na sobrang naguumapaw, sobrang blessed dahil sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta from my GMA Music Family and mga Kapuso Brigade na walang sawang nagmamahal sa amin."

Vilmark shared that his self-written song lead to fans sympathizing with his situation, "Ang daming nag-me-message sa akin na when they first heard the song, umiyak sila. Ako rin, I can't help na maluha. Bawat lyrics nun ako 'yung nagsulat e. Bawat lyrics nun, alam ko kung saan 'yung pinaghugutan. Natutuwa ako because they also shared and promoted on their own, sinasabi rin nila na they appreciate na naka-relate sila sa "Lisan."

More than anything, it was his way of healing from the sudden passing of his father. "Sobrang nakakatulong ito. I remember how I wrote this song during the first night of my father's wake. Hindi ko alam 'yung gagawin ko that time, and iyak lang ako nang iyak kasi sobrang close namin ng tatay ko. Ito lang 'yung way ko para makapag-cope during that time and it helped me a lot to release all that I wanted to say to my father. It's a long process for us na family pero pakonti konti kahit papaano, tinulungan ako ng song na ito maka-move on or maibsan 'yung sakit na nararamdaman ko sa pagkawala ko ng tatay ko."

He hopes "Lisan" can also inspire others to recover and heal from painful experiences and find hope in life. "Actually, though this song is a personal song for me, makakarelate ang mga tao with the feeling of loss and I want them to feel na despite all the negativity in life there's still hope, let's just wait and sana maging lesson, sana i-treasure natin lahat ng mga malalapit sa atin sa buhay kasi we'll never know what the future holds so sulitin natin 'yung time natin para maibigay natin 'yung pagmamahal natin sa mga mahal natin sa buhay."

Vilmark also shared his goals with GMA Music to release more music. "May future goals, with GMA Music on my side gusto ko pa rin mag-release ng maraming songs, I want to contribute more to OPM and gusto ko makapag release ng sarili kong album very soon, and a concert. Sana mag-materialize lahat at maging okay ang lahat, with all of your support."
