Sparkle Artist Seb Pajarillo drops debut single 'Want You'

Emerging Sparkle singer Seb Pajarillo releases his first single under GMA Playlist titled 'Want You.'

Composed by Rina Mercado, the song is about being smitten and staying in love with a person. It also comes from the point of view of a person committed and certain about their relationship.

Seb expressed his astonishment and gratitude to GMA Network for the opportunity to release his first single, “At first I was shocked 'nung nalaman ko na magkakaroon ako ng single. I was also very thankful kasi ‘di naman lahat nagkakaroon ng ganitong opportunity sa life. Ang una kong ginawa is nag-pray, nagpasalamat, at in-announce ito sa family. But ‘yung overall feeling ko is thankful talaga.”

He briefly shared how and why he chose the song, “Kaya naging ‘Want You’ ‘yung title ng kanta ay dahil sa personal experience ko. Sobrang sabik akong magmahal and sa lahat ng kantang na-pitch sa’kin ‘yung title na ‘Want You’ ‘yung pinaka-tumatak dahil for me, not everyone is capable of loving the way that I loved. Parang the song speaks to me, it explains how I love other people. ‘Yung kanta is more on about commitment, settling down, finding the right partner for you, and ‘yung feeling na alam mong hindi ka masasaktan doon sa tao. Sobrang natunaw ‘yung puso ko kasi maganda ‘yung message and doon ko na-realize na itong song ‘yung para sa akin. Tingin ko, lahat makaka-relate at makakaramdam ng feeling na gustong ibigay ng kanta.”

As part of his process, he watched romantic comedies to relate to the song, “Nanuod ako ng maraming romantic comedy movies kasi gusto kong ma-feel na this song is really how I feel. Isa na rito ‘yung La La Land at sobrang kinikilig po ako sa movie. Doon ko rin po na-realize na ang sarap ma-inlove. Nag daydream ako kung ano kaya feeling ng magka-girlfriend tapos doon ko na lang nakuha yung hook ko, na magagawa ko yung kantang ‘Want You.’”

Since he is currently single, Seb would love to sing this song to his future lover, “So far masyado akong focus sa sarili ko. Wala pa akong iniisip na dream girl ko pero daydreaming pa lang. Parang feeling ko pag meron na akong partner, ang saya siguro nitong kantahin sa harap niya. Hanggang inspiration muna ako ngayon, syempre masaya maging single but at the same time, masaya ring magmahal.”

He is also open to try new genres in the future, “Gusto ko mag-try ng ballad. I want to expand my potential when it comes to singing. Parang ‘yun ‘yung sinasabi nilang peak mo pag kumakanta at kaya mong ma-master 'yung pagkanta ng ballad songs. So for me ‘yun ‘yung gusto kong next target but for the meantime, mag-eenjoy pa ako rito sa mga love song at pop na kanta. So probably kapag nakuha ko na yung lakas ko, I’ll try to venture in some other genres para naman mas maganda ‘yung mabibigay kong music sa mga taong nakikinig.”

Seb expressed his interest to record a song with his close friends from Sparkle, “I want to do a collaboration with two good friends of mine. One of my closest friends is Saviour Ramos na gusto ko maka-collab. Gusto ko siyang makasama in a song kasi alam kong madali lang kaming magkaka-work and pareho kami ng genre ng music na gustong kantahin. The other one naman is a good friend of mine as well si Mitzi Josh kasi sobrang galing niya kumanta and marami kang matututunan sa kanya. Feeling ko lang na once mag-collaborate kami with a song, alam kong marami akong makukuha na techniques sa pagkanta and feeling ko mag-eexcel pa kami pareho. Na-iinspire ako sa kanilang dalawa kumanta kasi I feel comfortable singing with them and at the same time walang pressure, it’s all having fun.”
