Vilmark thanks fans for supporting his debut single 'Paraya'
"Paraya" landed on the second spot of iTunes Philippines on the day of its release.
The Clash 2021 finalist Vilmark is thankful for the success of his first self-penned single "Paraya."
"Paraya" was released on Friday, August 26, and immediately climbed to the second spot of iTunes Philippines chart.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Vilmark shared that he's still in a state of disbelief for the warm support he received.
"Sobrang overwhelmed. I really appreciate all our Kapuso kasi this is my first-ever single under GMA Music. Hindi ko in-expect na ganoon magiging kainit 'yung pagtanggap nila, especially baguhan lang ako sa industry.
"I don't have any expectations pero I have high hopes for this. So I'm happy na sa first release day niya is naging number two siya sa iTunes. I hope magtuloy-tuloy 'yung success ng song," Vilmark said.
Vilmark wrote "Paraya'' earlier this year while battling COVID-19. It is about letting go of the girl he loved who had already fallen in love with another guy.
"Since first-ever single ko ito, gusto ko sa kanta kong 'Paraya' is marinig 'yung music ko. Gusto ko na kapag narinig nila 'yung 'Paraya,' how I sang it, ma-recognize nila na 'Ay, si Vilmark 'to.' And of course I want everyone na maka-relate. Kapag nafi-feel nila na nasasaktan na sila, kapag hindi na tama, that's the best and perfect way na magparaya."
