EXCLUSIVE: Top One Project realizes dream via first major concert
While their concert is a celebration of their group’s first anniversary in the industry, this also marks the beginning of T.O.P.’s shot at committing to their part in the Pinoy music scene.
From auditioning in GMA’s boy band competition to turning their dream into a reality, Top One Project (T.O.P.) has surely come a long way as they made their way to the top and succeeded in their first major concert.
Miko Manguba, Louie Pedroso, Adrian Pascual, Joshua Jacobe and Mico Cruz didn’t fail to amaze and leave good lasting impressions in their audience last night, October 28, at ‘T.O.P. in Concert’ held in Music Museum.
The five gents of GMA Records have come from complying with requirements of the competition to freely engaging and rendering their own interpretations to OPM, international hits and as well as their originals. They have come from sweating out rounds of dancing and sing-off battles to winning the hearts of many via their modestly confident yet driven and heartfelt performances.
Aside from showcasing their musical chops, T.O.P. teased the crowd with a duet of The Chainsmoker’s Closer with Kim Domingo and rocked the night away with Aicelle Santos in singing Aegis’ ‘Halik.’ The theater hall was resounding with superb music, deafening cheers and warm support, and the boys only had to reciprocate the energy.
Louie said, “I’m just really happy that we’re blessed with people who love us and the industry who loves us as well.”
Joshua and Adrian were also both elated that the night turned into more than they could ask for.
So ayun po, sobrang thankful kami and blissful pa rin.”
“Sobrang nakakagaan ng feeling. More [than what I expected] pa, kasi nung nagre-rehearse kami walang audience eh. Iba, iba pag kaharap mo na ‘yung tao,” Adrian added.
While their concert is a celebration of their group’s first anniversary in the industry, this also marks the beginning of T.O.P.’s shot at committing to their part in the Pinoy music scene.
Mico recalled, “Very special day talaga sa aming lahat. Actually I’m very emotional kanina, parang ‘Paano ako kakanta ngayon?’ It’s crazy, I can’t explain really the feeling of performing dito sa Music Museum, and the reception of the crowd. Kanina talaga we felt the energy as well. Fulfilled, very. It’s crazy, and I’m very excited for so much more.”
Miko also shared, “This is one of my dreams na natupad. So maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nanood. Sana masundan din siya ng next concert, I’m really hoping.”
