Singer-songwriter Mark Carpio revealed that his love song Hiling is religious. He explained the concept behind the hit in an exclusive interview after his Playlist Live Tour guesting last June 11.
“The funny story about Hiling [is] akala nila it was about someone. Actually, it’s about God,” he said.
The love song is a tribute to the Creator and chronicles man’s relationship with him that is bridged through prayer.
“[That’s why] ‘Ito ay isang dalangin’ [is because] you’re talking to him [and asking] ‘Why is all of this happening?’ [when in fact] ikaw yung immature [and] you don’t know what to do. You get hurt, you complain without realizing na it’s part of the process of who you should become, because pain really helps us to grow as a person,” he added.
The real estate professional and musician wants to contribute to the OPM industry with catchy and meaningful songs that will touch hearts and impact lives even in the simplest ways.
“I wanna contribute to the [lives of] people kasi for me, music is parang [a] memory card. Every time you listen to that song, it brings you to a moment [and] it takes you back,” he shared.
