Mcoy Fundales to release new song 'Ang Forever Ko'y Ikaw'
Mcoy Fundales is back to singing with "Ang Forever Ko'y Ikaw" under AltG Records.
Singer, songwriter and TV writer Mcoy Fundales is making a comeback in the music scene with the release of the full version of his song "Ang Forever Ko'y Ikaw" which was the official soundtrack for the Kapuso show of the same name.
In his media interview, Mcoy talked about how the song was completed, "[During] year 2018 may na-approve akong concept ng show for a morning rom-com series, Ang Forever Ko'y Ikaw starring Camille Prats and Neil Ryan Sese and since ako 'yung nag-conceptualize nung show, ako na rin 'yung gumawa nung theme song pero back then one stanza and one chorus.
"During the pandemic nung nag iisip ako ng followup song doon sa "Bakit Kita Hahabulin," inisip ko 'bakit hindi ko tapusin 'yung song na ito?'"
Mcoy also shared his experience of writing songs for other people.
"If other artists cover the song you write, malaking bagay 'yun, nakakatuwa 'yun.
"As a songwriter, yung sumulat ng songs for other people [ay] nakaka-proud.
He also admits that P-pop is popular lately and it's a good thing for the local music industry.
"Yung mga guests namin na All-Out Sundays they're very aggressive ah, hindi madali 'yung ginagawa nila na singing, dancing, and rapping at the same time.
"I'd say OPM is alive right now through them. Ang OPM naman parang fashion na may umiikot. P-pop is what's keeping the scene alive ngayon pero magugulat ka babalik na naman yung Bossa Nova and other genres.
Mcoy released another single titled "Bakit Kita Hahabulin" under AltG Records.
