Sanya Lopez's newly debuted single "Hot Maria Clara" immediately climbed to the third spot of iTunes Philippines chart.
It has also been included in Spotify's Fresh Finds Philippines playlist.
"Hot Maria Clara" is a danceable track that revolves around the story of a modern Filipina who is very much empowered.
"Ang 'Hot Maria Clara' po kasi is about sa isang makabagong Maria Clara. Kung si Maria Clara rati ay mahinhin, tahimik, ngayon mas palaban na siya. Whether sa love life o iba pang mga aspect in life," Sanya said in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com.
She continued, "Ang gusto ko sa kanya kasi mas modern itong approach ng Maria Clara tapos mas ipinakita natin dito 'yung pagiging Filipina natin."
The song is written by Njel De Mesa, arranged by Zak Yokingco, produced by Paulo Agudelo and GMA Music Publishing.
