Mikee Quintos and Kelvin Miranda admit thinking of each other while recording their new single
Kelvin Miranda's debut single, “Two of a Kind” featuring Mikee Quintos drops on digital platforms worldwide today!
The kilig brought to us by Mikee Quintos and Kelvin Miranda's love team continues as GMA Music releases the actor-singer's first debut single, “Two of a Kind” featuring no less than his leading lady.
Mikee and Kelvin were first paired through the hit Kapuso fantasy-romance series, The Lost Recipe. Despite the novelty of their love team, the two have shown undeniable chemistry and they bring this in their performance of “Two of a Kind.”
Mikee shares, “Nae-excite na somehow meron pa rin kaming mabibigay sa MiKel fanbase. And of course, it's always a pleasure to work with Mr. Kelvin Miranda.”
Kelvin then adds, “Masaya na hindi lang dahil sa screen eh nabigyan din kami ng pagkakataon na maipakita 'yung other side ng talent namin na pagkanta. Sa mga susunod pa, makakaasa pa kayo, mga Kapuso. Sana suportahan n'yo rin kung ano pa 'yung mga ilalatag at ihahain namin sa inyo. Sana kainin n'yo pa rin.”
“Two of a Kind” is now available for download and streaming via digital platforms worldwide. It is composed by Jimmy Borja, Edmund Perlas, and James Scott, and produced by Kedy Sanchez under GMA Music.
Though this is Mikee and Kelvin's duet, the two Kapuso stars weren't able to record together due to the limitations and challenges imposed by the new normal. They may be physically-distanced while working on their song, but the two also admitted that they drew inspiration from one another.
Mikee reveals, “We both recorded our parts separately but honestly Kelvs, nung nagre-record ako, iniisip kita. Mas nagkakaroon ng emosyon 'yung pagkanta kapag ini-imagine kong kinakanta ko sa 'yo.
“Hindi na kasi bago, we always sing together so ang daling alalahanin nung feeling na singing with him.”
Kelvin also echoes the same, saying, “Kapag nagdu-duet tayo sa taping, naaalala ko eh. May times na sinasabayan mo naman ako, tapos komportable.
“Ang ginawa ko nun since wala ka nga and since ikaw nauna, pina-play ko with boses ni Mikee and then mabilis lang kami. Sabi ni Sir Kedy, 'O tingnan mo, kaya mo naman pala eh. Sinasabi mo na hindi pero kaya mo naman pala.' Sabi ko, 'Sir Kedy, salamat, kung hindi dahil kay Mikee, hindi ko rin siya makakanta nang maayos.”
